Piping Live- Emerging Talent

Join us on Friday 16th August at The National Piping Centre for the Piping Live! 2024 Street Cafe.

CAN Dubh, comprising Isle of Skye natives Noah Scott and Ciorstaidh Chaimbeul, are set to take their unique combination of the clarinet and accordion to the Street Café stage on Friday 16th August. The duo won a Danny Kyle Open Stage Award at Celtic Connections earlier this year.

The Magnificent Squeezebox: RCS Accordion Ensemble

A gathering of accordions performs exciting, and astonishing music for ensemble in the round ranging from the tango master Piazzolla to the mind-blowing rhythms and textures of Mikołaj Maikusiak alongside more familiar classics like the Masquerade Waltz by Khachaturian. As part of this year’s feature of the accordion we’re delighted to welcome the ensemble from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland whose concerts are always a sonic and theatrical experience.

Duo Chaimbeul

Duo Chaimbeul is a Guitar and Accordion duo made up of siblings Ciorstaidh Chaimbeul and Eosaph Caimbeul. They were born and brought up on the Isle of Skye surrounded by Gaelic music, song and culture. They have both gone on to study at conservatoire- Eosaph at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, and Ciorstaidh in her final year at Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.
